SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. - We had hoped to make the 75th anniversary celebration public as to allow us to celebrate with our valued community of retirees, friends and families, however a decision had to be made on whether or not this would be feasible given current COVID-19 conditions when planning began in late 2020.

We could not assume whether or not the State of Vermont would be open enough that we could have the celebration we wanted in a safe and responsible manner with the ongoing pandemic. While we are thrilled to see life beginning to return to the normalcy we all have been longing for, restrictions did not lift soon enough for us to put in action plans, capabilities and resources to accommodate a public event.

As a military facility, we had Department of Defense restrictions to take into account along with those from the state. Therefore, the event will remain open only to immediate service members, leadership and civilian employees of the Vermont National Guard.

We look forward to opening the base in future events and thank you all for your understanding as we navigate the ever changing post-pandemic environment. The event will be livestreamed on the Vermont Air National Guard Facebook page where we hope everyone will tune in.
