As per Air Force Policy Directive, 90-8 Environment, Safety and Occupational Health and Risk Management, the 158th Fighter Wing Environment Management Office (“EMS”) assumes responsibility for all base-wide environmental and HAZMAT functions, pursuant to ISO 14000:1 standard. Additionally, the Vermont Air National Guard’s EMS is designed to ensure compliance of all corresponding U.S. Air Force, Federal, State and local environmental regulations and policies.

The 158th Fighter Wing is committed to the protection of human health as well as the environment as it accomplishes its stated mission: “Ready to Fly, Fight and Win to defend the principles of the Constitution of the United States and to protect the citizens of Vermont.”
