The Vermont Air National Guard, 158th Fighter Wing supports Air Force Policy Directive (AFPD) 90-8 Environment, Safety, and Occupational Management and Risk Management as the Air Force and Air National Guard Policy.

The 158th Fighter Wing of the Vermont Air National Guard is committed to the protection of human health and the environment as it accomplishes its stated mission:
“Ready to Fly, Fight and Win to defend the principles of the Constitution of the United States and protect the citizens of Vermont.”
The 158th Fighter Wing is dedicated to the continuous implementation and documentation of an installation-wide Environmental Management System (EMS) designed to assure compliance with applicable Federal, Air Force-specific, State, and local environmental regulations and policies.
The 158th Fighter Wing is committed to pollution prevention, and to continual improvement of its environmental management practices and programs. The installation will support Air National Guard Readiness Center subject matter experts in maintaining the Air National Guard’s aspect inventory by identifying and communicating new aspects, and providing information if requested. Senior leaders will commit adequate resources to carry out this process while complying with the requirements of the Federal Antideficiency Act.
