Oct. 22, 2019 | 3:41
The Vermont Air National Guard has a storied history, going all the way back to the Revolutionary War with the famed Ethan Allen and the Green Mountain Boys. The history of the 158th Fighter Wing is told from its origins, to present day where it is the first Air National Guard wing to receive the F-35A Lightning II, the Air Force's latest fifth-generation aircraft. Starting with the 134th Fighter Squadron being formed to fight in World War II, to patrolling the skies over New York City after 9/11 and deployments to the Middle East, different perspectives are shown as to what types of unique backgrounds are found in the Airmen of the wing, and what leads to its success.
