Hello! My name is Staff Sergeant Sarah Serna. A little bit about me…I grew up in Northern New York and Maine, and joined the Army reserve in 2003 where I served until 2007 as Military Police. I then served on Active Duty from 2007-2012, spending those 5 years in Germany. After leaving the Army, I completed my Bachelor’s degree and then earned a Master’s Degree from Norwich University in American History.
I moved with my family to Vermont in March of 2019 and joined the Vermont Air National Guard in November of that year as a Personalist. My absolute favorite role was as the enlistment clerk, which drove my desire to become a recruiter. I loved working with applicants and getting to know about them and their decisions to join the Guard.
As a recruiter, I now have the opportunity to be a part of the entire process for our future Airmen, beginning to end! I take great pride in our organization and putting on the uniform and look forward to working with our future members. The decision to serve has been life-changing, opening up so many opportunities and it can do the same for you! Take that next step…join our team!
